Many influences have shaped their development as leaders and caregivers. One of those experiences that brought them together as a husband-and-wife team was A Leader's Journey, a cohort of about 40 ministry leaders that met every three to four months in from May 2016 to April 2018. The cohort was led and trained by Rich Plass and Jim Cofield, the authors of the book, The Relational Soul. The cohort met face-to-face in Irvine, California.

When Brian left the corporate world at the end of 2022, they knew they would be able to apply their training and experience to reach and care for the souls of people who need refreshment, renewal, and recommitment to their life's purposes and callings.
