Soul care for leaders in the age of AI

Leading now asks more of who you are than what you know.

Relational Soul Care tends the mind, emotion, and will of the leader, in relationship, so you can lead with clear judgment and a steady soul.

What changed

The work moved inside the leader.

Information is now the cheapest thing a leader can get. What is scarce is judgment: holding paradox, deciding without a clear answer, staying anchored in purpose while always on.

Most leadership development still adds information and skills. But the gap is not out there. It is the distance between what leading now asks of a person inside and what most programs build.

That is the work we do. AI is the occasion. The soul needed care before it, and will after.

The field is saying the same thing

Trudi McCanna, who has led leadership development at companies including Google and JetBlue Airways, puts it plainly: leading right now “isn’t about earning an A.”

Plans are no longer the edge.

AI can now draft functional plans that rival what a leader or team might produce alone, so she sees the real differentiator as how people navigate complexity together.

Capacity is how you think.

Leaders in similar roles thrive or struggle mostly because of how they see their role, she says, not because of skills or experience.

Growth takes reflection, together.

Development, in her view, needs time to reflect and time with other adults who make sense of things differently.

What we mean by soul care

Care for the part of you that judges, feels, and chooses.

We work from a specific view of the person: spirit, soul, and body, with the soul made of mind, emotion, and will. That gives the work something real to attend to.

Mind

What you believe

Questions that surface what you believe about yourself, the world, and other people, and how that shapes your judgment.

Emotion

What you feel

Naming your emotional state honestly, with peers who carry weight alongside you instead of taking more from you.

Will

What you choose

Clarifying intention and purpose, so you can commit to the best answer available now and stay anchored under pressure.

How we work

Two ways to be cared for, each in relationship.

For one leader

Coaching

A mirror for you alone: the beliefs under your judgment, the emotion under your performance, the intention under your decisions.

A thought partner with the skill to help you understand and change what’s limiting your effectiveness.

Who you'll be working with

Brian and Cindy Schutt.

We started Relational Soul Care because we both saw what happens when a person tends their soul, whatever their position. Our clients have ranged from a homeschooling mom to a senior principal engineer working on advanced 3D video processing. When they took care of what they were thinking, how they were feeling, and what they applied their wills to, their individual and leadership performance improved, and they were happier and healthier.
