Relational Soul Care was born out of A Leader's Journey, a cohort of about 40 ministry leaders that met from May 2016 to April 2018. The cohort was led and trained by Rich Plass and Jim Cofield, the authors of the book, The Relational Soul. The cohort met face-to-face in Irvine, California during seven day-and-a-half mini-retreats that occurred every three to four months. Brian and Cindy Schutt were members of that cohort, and their lifelong interests in human behavior, care for others, and our spiritual journey was sparked during that time. They knew they would be able to apply their training to reach and care for the souls of people who need refreshment and strengthening.
Brian has his degree in Psychology and has spent most of his career working in High Tech in positions that enabled him to connect and network with people to develop and hone his skills as a communicator, facilitator, connector, and coach. He has worked as a certified Integral Coach for the last five years after finishing his certification through New Ventures West. He is also a senior Agile DevOps Coach at a Fortune 50 company, and helps teams work better together as they deliver value-filled solutions to their customers. The combination of roles have proven to be fertile soil in which to develop his skills as a soul caregiver. He also serves as an elder-pastor at a local Acts29 church. His StrengthsFinder Top 5 are Input, Connectedness, Learner, Intellection, and Achiever.
Cindy has her degree in Child Development and spent 17 years as an aid, teacher, coordinator, coach, counselor, and administrator in a local Christian school before retiring. She now spends most of her time as a soul caregiver when she's not providing elder care to her mother. Her StrengthsFinder Top 5 are Connectedness, Intellection, Harmony, Individualization, and Empathy.
